Inside or Wire Electrician

Inside electricians are sometimes known as wiremen. Their main focus of work is the electrical systems in commercial buildings and infrastructures. Some of their duties are installing, designing and maintaining the electrical systems to provide reliable electrical power in buildings. Wiremen may have specializations in either residential, commercial, industrial, or other types of infrastructures. This type of electricians spends most of their time indoors as you can see in their specializations. However, they may also work on different outdoor projects as long as it is connected to an electrical indoor system. 

Outside or Line Electrician

Outside electricians are also called line electrical workers or linemen. From the word itself, they spend much of their work outside the establishments. They work on different power transmission and distribution lines outdoors. Their main responsibility is to ensure that the electricity produced at various power plants works safely to substations through the high-voltage lines. Linemen work with much higher voltages as compared to the wiremen who typically work on low voltages in buildings, homes and other infrastructures. Typically, you can see these electricians outside wearing protective gear working on transmission cables and utility poles in your area.

What are the Other Categories of Electricians?

Residential Electricians

A residential electrician is the most common type of wire electrician. From the word itself residence, they work electrical projects at home, ranging from planning and installing new wirings to fixing broken sockets. Installation electricians are also called construction electricians. They have specialization in electrical system installations for all newly constructed buildings. Maintenance Electricians

Maintenance electricians, from the word itself, their main responsibilities are to maintain, repair, and upgrade existing electrical systems. They can also work in different areas, these include residential, commercial, industrial, and other electrical works. Sometimes private companies hire these workers to make sure that their electrical systems, including equipment, are always functioning well.

Sign electricians have specialization in the electrical field related to signages. They work on both stand-alone signages and building-mounted signages. They also do electric signages and lighting for non-electric signage. You can usually see these signages on roadways, business buildings, and anywhere.
